Samsung has launched its flagship smartphone Galaxy A8 in China with a price US $494. Now, the firm has officially announced it for India, which will be available for Rs. 32,500. The handset comes in black, white and gold colour variants and will be on sale via both offline retail and online portals. The firm also offering AirTel customers double data offer for 6 months.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 comes with a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by an octa-core (4 x 1.8 GHz + 4 x 1.3 GHz) Exynos 5430 CPU. It includes 2 GB of RAM and has 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card.
The Galaxy A8 runs the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with TouchWiz UI on top. It has ultra-narrow bezels with a full metal uni-body design and has a fingerprint sensor on the home button. It houses a 16 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture ; while there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens for selfies / video calling.
The device is just 5.9 mm thick and weighs 151 grams. It has Hybrid Dual SIM where the second slot can be used as a microSD card. In terms of connectivity options, the phone include 4G LTE, 3G, dual band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS + GLONASS. It is backed by a 3,050 mAh battery under the hood.
