Ringing Bells has launched the cheapest smartphone in India, dubbed as Freedom 251. It is priced at just Rs. 251 (about 3.657 US Dollar), which makes it world’s cheapest smartphone. Booking for the phone will start from tomorrow (18 Feb 16) at freedom251.
The firm has already said that ‘Freedom 251’ launch is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for “empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story”. The phone comes pre-loaded with several apps for Women Safety, Swachh Bharat, Framers, Fishermen, Medical, Whatsapp, Facebook, YouTube and others.
The Ringing Bells Freedom 251 features a 4-inches qHD IPS touchscreen that has 960 x 540 pixels of resolution and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor that is coupled with 1GB of RAM. It is equipped with 8GB of internal memory that is further expandable with up to 32GB of microSD card. The device boots from Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box.
The Ringing Bells Freedom 251 houses a 3.2 MP of rear camera that features autofocus. There is also a 0.3 MP front-facing snapper for selfies / video calling. It is fueled by a 1450mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the device includes 3G, 3.5 mm sound jack, Bluetooth, WiFi, mobile hotspot and GPS /A-GPS. It comes in White color.
